Here’s a GIF I made using separate images made with the SEM of one tiny spot on one of my super-etched copper plates. The variation of images were produced by changing the scan speed and increasing/decreasing the noise reduction. As I explained in my previous post, the glowing hot spots are probably some kind of organic matter thats charging up the electrons from the beam. The hot spots seem to change pretty rapidly from image to image, and I found were very difficult to get multiple consistent images of the same location.
